Today I’d like to take a look at the Top Five on Amazon’s bestselling Christmas DVDs list. Surely there are some gems to be discovered..

1.
Jeff Dunham’s Very Special Christmas Special
I have to admit I never heard of Jeff Dunham or his Christmas special. I’m all the more surprised to see it on number one of this list. Oh, now I remember! He’s the ventriloquist guy with his doll of Ahmed the dead terrorist. I’m not a very big fan of his act (although I have to admit that sometimes it really seems as if there’s more than one person on stage) but if you like the idea of Ahmed singing “Jingle Bombs” you’re in for a real treat.

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas

We will cover this gem (one of my all-time favorite Christmas DVDs) in a later blog post this season. Just let me tell you this much. If you like Halloween and Christmas equally and could never think of a Christmas movie where Santa Claus is kidnapped and tortured fasten your seat belts for the ride of a lifetime. I saw this movie in a tiny theater on Christmas Day of 1994 and I will never forget it. The Blu-ray version of this Christmas DVD is also on rank 4 in the Amazon bestselling list.

3. The Peanuts Holiday Collection
This DVD box set contains A Charlie Brown Christmas which we will cover here next week and the equally adorable It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown for all Halloween lovers out there.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas (Blu-ray Version)

5. Barbie in a Christmas Carol

I never expected to see a Barbie movie this high in a ranking. It’s an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens story with Barbie in the role of Mr. Scrooge. Although I’m a little scared I will check it out sometime this holiday season.

What are your favorite Christmas DVDs? What do you think should rank highest in a holiday movie top list? Tell me in the comments!
