Just found a great article capturing in essence what is so compelling about Christmas DVDs especially in these times of a financial crisis. I already read some articles that asked the question if we should cancel Christmas altogether.
But of course there are alternatives to bring the joy of the Holidays to your family and friends by increasing the quality and quantity of time spent together while spending less.

Home entertainment for the Holidays offers a viable alternative for many. Watching Movies, TV, DVDs is a method that can provide a pleasant atmosphere, carry valuable emotional messages and stimulate intimate conversations between family and friends. Classic movies such as It’s a Wonderful Life are easily available to the public. Enjoying these in a group is a wonderful way to spend our time together. And as everybody does indeed have less mones the groups become smaller and more intimate. In my opinion this is a much better way to celebrate Christmas: with the people you know and love.

This Holiday season may see more families enjoying the newest classics along with older classics at home. The local theater may become a luxury in periods where money is scarce. Many peopleare replacing expensive dinner parties with gatherings where everyone brings their favorite dish as they gather in a casual setting around a Home Theater system to watch Christmas DVDs, parades, sports and other broadcast onteboor recorded entertainment.
